Why choose an XL plaster?

Standard finger plasters often fall short during intensive use. Our XL plasters (available in 12 cm and 18 cm) are specially designed for superior adhesion. Because the plaster is wrapped several times around the finger, it creates mechanical strength that not only ensures it stays in place but also provides an extra buffer against bumps.

Why length makes the difference

Our XL plasters aren't just longer; they are designed for the overlap wrapping technique. By applying the plaster spirally around the finger — with each new wrap overlapping the edge of the previous one — you create a bond that is up to 3 times stronger than a standard plaster.

  • No thick edges: By spreading the overlap, the finger remains slim and mobile.
  • Superior adhesion: The plaster sticks to itself over its entire length, preventing peeling.
  • Extra protection: The spiral layer provides a shock-absorbing buffer all around the finger.

The 2 Golden Rules for application

Wrap like roof tiles:

Start on the wound and wrap the plaster spirally upwards or downwards. Ensure each new wrap overlaps the edge of the previous one by about half. This ensures a slim finger that is fully protected and won't get caught on anything.

Press for thermal activation:

fter wrapping, hold the finger firmly for a few seconds with your other hand. Your body heat activates the adhesive layer, causing it to bond deeper and stronger to the skin. This is crucial for the optimal performance of our Waterproof and Extra Strong variants.

FAQ

When to choose 12 cm vs 18 cm?

  • 12 cm is the standard for firm fixation.
  • 8 cm is our "Long-Wrap" champion: ideal for larger hands, when covering extra thick dressings, or for maximum shock absorption.

When to use which color?

  • Blue (HACCP) is mandatory in the food industry (visually detectable).
  • Black is popular for events, technical work, and construction (discreet and tough).
  • Beige is the universal standard for general daily use.

When to use which quality?

  • Superstretch (Textile): The best choice for dry environments. Highly elastic and breathable, ideal for wounds on joints where maximum freedom of movement is required.
  • Superstretch Extra Strong: For extremely heavy-duty use or dusty environments where a standard plaster would come loose more quickly.
  • Waterproof (PE): Basic protection for occasional contact with water.
  • Waterproof & Superstretch (PU): Our premium quality. The ultra-thin PU film is 100% waterproof but allows the skin to breathe (preventing skin maceration). Ideal for use under gloves and during prolonged contact with liquids.
  • Alu (Aluminium wound pad): Specifically for wounds where it is crucial that the wound pad does not stick to the wound.
